US/Canadian Labels

These labels sometimes reach Australian shops, and they only show sodium in milligrams per serving. The food with 30 mg/serving (a rye crispbread) is more salty than the cookies with 80 mg/serving if you calculate sodium per 100g. A rough, quick guide when travelling in the US or Canada is to look for foods where sodium in milligrams is less than half the energy in Calories.
