When you choose low salt foods exclusively you will have a 24-hour sodium excretion rate below 50 mmol. This is what we call GOOD SALT CONTROL. It provides all the benefits that a diuretic is supposed to provide, with two differences:

  • good salt control is more effective
  • good salt control avoids the side effects of a diuretic
